Articles – TRAAK selected in consortium by the french defense innovation agency

On June 16, 2023, TRAAK, KNDS and EOS Technologie won a contract sponsored by the French Defense Innovation Agency to develop a new type of medium-range remotely-operated ammunition in France, previously absent from the French military arsenal.

LARINAE is a visionary project launched by the French Defense Procurement Agency (DGA) and the French Defense Innovation Agency (AID) to develop a ROM (remotely operated munition) designed and manufactured entirely in France, capable of flying even without GPS. This initiative is part of a wider drive by the Ministry of the Armed Forces to modernize and strengthen the operational capabilities of the French armed forces through the use of advanced UAVs.

Each of the companies is contributing its own expertise to meet the announced needs: “We’ve indicated that we want solutions that are inexpensive, obviously effective, provide autonomy depending on the zone in question, and are delivered very quickly. We also want the military to be able to train very quickly” asserted Emmanuel Chiva, General Delegate for Armaments.

On this project, TRAAK’s expertise enabled us to equip the vector with a GPS-free navigation system, making its operations immune to jamming. Its reusability means it can carry out intelligence missions with unrivalled precision.

The aim of the call for projects :

The LARINAE call for projects is designed to encourage technological and operational innovation in the field of UAVs. It aims to find efficient, cost-effective solutions to current and future security challenges. Systems developed within the framework of this call must demonstrate their effectiveness within a very short timeframe, with a first demonstration scheduled for one year after the projects have been contracted.
